A Rhythmatic Place. Words by Ash Tamburro:

Tucked away behind those quirky streets, in the land of trendies that we love to hate and call, Shoreditch, you will find Hewett St car park. It's played a part in an impressive collection of underground events over the years however, Saturday 12th June 2010 saw it open her doors to the Rhythmatic - Cavo Paradiso World Tour. The excitement surrounding this event over the past months has been something, epic! Everyone and their Mothers knew that Tanzmann & Squillace were in town and about to go head to head in a full on, techno driven B2B session, right in the heart of East London.

From the minute we entered the venue, you got an overwhelming sense of 'cool vibes' and music that just seemed to go 'hand in hand' with the overall edginess of the space. The crowd was a mixture of dedicated fans of the boys and general cool East London kids, bouncing around in patchwork denim with their faces painted and ego's dressed down. Waiting at either of the two bars seemed to be acceptable, especially as the rooms were not only alive with colour and charm but, also appeared quite intimate. The promoters (DoubleTroubleProductions), didn't go wrong either with a standard Funktion 1 sound system which, for the openness of the space, only injected more satisfaction into the room. At one point, we found ourselves stood in front of a Corona sponsored truck/DJ booth in room 2 which, was a nice touch and only assisted Rhythmatic residents, Wesley Razzy, Rico Novo and friends in creating their own madness with the masses. The choice of having two, equally as banging rooms, really did keep the party going right through till the end.

After 4 hours of teasing and pleasing with residents Alex Celler, Stathis Lazarides and Betoko in the Main Room, 02:30 came and Matthias & Davide were rushed in and boy, that's when the atmosphere really became something special. Both boys, this summer, are now a part of DC10's "New Era" which, seems to have put DC10 firmly back in business. Past residents Luciano & Loco Dice have now made their mark in DC10's history books and have now moved aside to let residents such as Seth Troxler, Zip and DJ W!LD get into the swing of things alongside supporting residents Clive Henry, Jamie Jones, Dixon and Arpiar. .

After a quick change over of mixers, Matthias and Davide opened up in true fashion. The crowd were sensational and seemed to be going wild in every corner of the room! The DC10 boys exploded with excitement and their electric rapport, not only with eachother - but also with their records - really did rub off on the room. To see friends, resident goers and other extraordinary folk all floating around with smiles on their faces and showing no signs of fatigue, made this night a special journey from start to finish and most certainly - one to remember.
